A few months ago, I wrote an article about Alabama politics being bloodsport. In the latest headlines dominating election news—after AJ McCarron announced he is running for lieutenant governor—we see that those words are ringing true like a windmill under the awnings on the front porch during an April tornado. The powers that be in the Yellowhammer State are coming at McCarron at 500 mph winds.
Jim Zeigler, a contributor for Yellowhammer News, is leading the charge like a cavalry officer into an Indian camp, coming at the former Alabama quarterback standout with both guns blazing. What kind of ammunition is Zeigler packing? What he is firing has as much firepower as a wet bottle rocket on Memorial Day. Impotent!
The powers that be are coming at McCarron because he only registered to vote a few days ago? Really? I mean, that's all you got? That holds as hollow as a whiskey barrel around a bunch of North Carolina moonshiners in the Appalachian Mountains. Empty!
Moreover, Secretary of State Wes is touting his accomplishments that have as much wind behind them as a paper airplane.
Watching this desperate attempt to stop McCarron is pathetic and shows that Zeigler and Yellowhammer News are like a chicken in a bread pan picking out dough. There's nothing there.
AJ is getting his first taste of Alabama politics, and he can rest assured there's more to come. I expect the powers that be to throw a hurricane with that tornado against McCarron's turbine—but expect the generator to turn strong.
