(Montgomery, AL) --- Austin Vigue announced today that he will be running for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, seeking the Democratic nomination. Austin believes “Our district deserves a Representative who will fight tirelessly to improve the lives of all our residents, regardless of their political affiliations or socioeconomic backgrounds.”

Austin, as a life-long resident of the district, has seen firsthand the lack of access to affordable healthcare, quality education, lack of investment in rural areas, and the struggle small business owners face in the current economy.

Austin supports expanding the access of healthcare by investing in rural health clinics and telemedicine to ensure that everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare. Austin supports strengthening public education by increasing funding for schools and increasing teacher pay. Austin wants to help small businesses thrive by reducing unnecessary regulations and providing tax incentives to promote growth and innovation. Austin wants to invest in rural areas to help create jobs and infrastructure to enhance local economies and promote self-sufficiency.

Eddgra Fallin has said, “I am endorsing Austin Vigue for Congress without any reservation because of the content of his character which represents Democratic values/agenda/political philosophy that I hold dear…There is no reason Alabama can’t be #1 in college football, education, and quality of life. Electing Democrats like Austin will allow Alabama to move forward and not be stuck in the past.”

“It is time to get real work done for Alabama, and I am committed to doing just that,” Austin said. “With your support, we can work together to create a better future not just for our district, but for Alabama and beyond.”
