Justice for Jameson: Police Brutality and the Tragic Death of a Family Pet

The news dominating national headlines here of recent has to do with the tragic shooting of Jameson the doodle by a Los Angeles County police officer, responding to a noise complaint following a woman celebrating the New York Knicks winning the championship.
This highlights something in the United States too often ignored: police brutality run amok. I said what I said. If you don't believe this is taking place, watch some of the Facebook reels.
This heartless shooting by this S.S. Stormtrooper is nothing new. These bullies with a badge shoot 30 dogs a day. Not one police officer has been killed by a dog in 50 years although one did get killed by a cow.
He had every intention of killing that dog as soon as he heard the animal barking, telling his partner, "Bro, no way that dog is going to bite me," and had his firearm drawn. He had ample other means to stop the animal if he felt threatened.
He had a taser and pepper spray, but he chose to use deadly force. As soon as this event occurred, you hear the ready-made excuse of, "They need more training." How much more training can they get? They go to an academy, they have a field training officer and
still commit these kinds of crimes—and yes, he committed a crime.
This has nothing to do with their lack of training. This is the mindset of some of these people going into law enforcement. Every time I read a post about "back the blue," I think, "What does this even mean? The ability to do anything they want? With no repercussions?"
Look, I'm not anti-police, but I also see them for what they are: a necessary evil. We need them to maintain law and order, but they must be held accountable. I hope this officer is charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
My heart breaks every time I see the picture of the woman crying over her dog. I can't imagine how traumatic that must be, but again, this speaks to the thirst for blood some people have to go into this profession.
Remember, Jews did not kill Christ. Roman police officers did. RIP Jameson the doodle, you deserved better, and I hope you get justice.
