Ken McFeeters Enters Alabama Governor’s Race, Pledges "Freedom, Virtue, and Truth"

Staff Writer January 22, 2026

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Standing as a self-described outsider, insurance agent Ken McFeeters officially qualified this morning to run for Governor of Alabama as a Republican. His campaign launch signals a direct challenge to the political establishment, framed as a battle for the soul of the state against "growing oppression, division, and fear."

A Platform of Sovereignty and Reform

McFeeters’ platform focuses on decentralizing power and restoring individual liberties. His top legislative priorities include:

  • Tax Relief: Eliminating property taxes on owner-occupied homes.

  • State Independence: Working toward making Alabama food-independent and securing local resources.

  • Education: Overhauling the state’s education system to return control to parents and local communities.

  • Medical Freedom: Rethinking modern medicine to prioritize citizens over bureaucratic interests and ending government overreach in personal health choices.

"Not Your Average Politician"

McFeeters is leaning into his outsider status, contrasting his "grassroots" approach with the heavily funded campaigns of his opponents. He plans to traverse the state in a Jeep Rubicon accompanied by his German Shepherd—a strategy he calls "living the dream of every American schoolboy."

He leveled sharp criticism at Republican primary opponent Senator Tommy Tuberville and Democrat Doug Jones, accusing them of utilizing "military- and intelligence-grade surveillance tools" and "psychological operations" against Alabamians.

“My job is to remind people that they are in charge of the government, not the other way around,” McFeeters said. “The people of Alabama have been waiting a long time for someone like me—and they will warm up to freedom, virtue, and truth very quickly.”

Republican Ken McFeeters officially enters the 2026 Alabama Governor's race, vowing to eliminate property taxes and fight federal government overreach.
