On the BCS. State of Alabama podcast, Agriculture Commission candidate Christian Woerner McInnis had this to say about the threat China poses to the American agriculture industry.
"They're here to get our agriculture equipment technology and they go out to the fields and steal seeds that we have spent hundreds of millions of dollars getting it to the point that we can get it into production and they just walk out into the field take it and they bypass decades of research and hundreds of millions of dollars and they pick right up what we have built.
So you have this mounting of what we've taken for granted there hasn't been a large alarm set off and I think people are beginning to wake up nationwide saying look it's happening right under our nose you know I think COVID kind of did that and and how that experience of COVID we woke up one day and we freaked out over toilet paper that is what you should be doing right now freaked out over that we're selling our land to foreign companies, we're selling our companies to
foreign companies, and we are stressing our farmers to the point that we can't even put the young farmers in."
