Politics causes deep divisions among the masses, but in Alabama, who people root for creates an even deeper rift. As fans, we're curious to know where elected officials stand.
On the most recent episode of the BCS State of Alabama podcast, with co-host Brandon Moseley, Attorney General Steve Marshall gave a hint about who he cheers for. When asked if he's an Alabama or Auburn fan, Marshall replied, "So, Brandon, I was named after the quarterback at Alabama when I was born. Steve Sloan, for those old enough to remember, who I had a chance to meet. Remarkable man. I say that to say I didn't have a choice. No doubt. Grew up an Alabama fan. Longstanding. Definitely in a mixed marriage. A wife that bleeds orange and blue. I am one of those Alabama fans that can pull for Auburn when they're not playing Alabama, but definitely when push comes to shove, I'll be wearing crimson as opposed to orange and blue."
Well, there you have it, folks! I'm sure the Attorney General is just as disappointed as I am with Bama's performance at Doak Campbell Stadium yesterday, but as always Roll Tide!
