​Look at the race for Alabama House District 20 between former Fifth District Congressman Mo Brooks and the incumbent, James Lomax. Brooks was outspent 1.1 million dollars to around 125,000 dollars. There is no way to bridge that gap.

"They only care about one thing, and that is how much money they can get by fleecing Alabama citizens," Brooks warned, noting that his Duke University degree in economics gives him a distinct perspective on the broader impact of legalized gambling. "It siphons money out of our economy. It will decrease our income taxes, decrease our sales tax collections, and increase our social costs because of gambling losses from people who can't afford it." ​

​Drawing from his tenure on the Alabama Ethics Commission, Dr. Tankersley emphasized that Alabama consistently ranks poorly regarding institutional transparency. He distinguished between criminal corruption and what he terms "public interest corruption"—a system rigged legally to benefit a powerful group of entrenched corporate and political interests often referred to locally as the "big mules."

Beyond the endorsement, Harris and Casey are joining forces to urge Alabamians to vote "Yes" on Amendment 1 in the upcoming primary. The amendment aims to give judges more discretion to deny bail to individuals accused of violent crimes, a measure Harris believes is vital for community safety
